Passover in Santa Teresa for 2027: Seder registration, Chabad meals, kosher-for-Pesach groceries, Blooma, and what is confirmed about local arrangements.

Passover 2027 begins on the evening of April 21 and ends after nightfall on April 29 in Costa Rica. Chabad of Santa Teresa advertises communal Seders on both nights, plus Shabbat and Yom Tov meals during the holiday. Registration is required. Its published policy says registration opens two months before Pesach; that is a booking policy, not confirmation that the next edition's form is already open.

The Seder and Holiday Meals

Book through Chabad's official Pesach page. The page says space is limited and Seders usually sell out ahead of the holiday. Check which nights and meals your reservation includes. A first-night Seder booking does not automatically include the second Seder or the final Yom Tov meals.

The full dated schedule is published when registration opens. As checked on November 5, 2026, the page provides the service outline rather than a full 2027 timetable or a verified meal price. We do not carry a previous year's price forward.

Food for a Villa or Apartment

Chabad says kosher-for-Pesach groceries are not sold in Santa Teresa and directs visitors to Super Kosher & Deli in San Jose, including meat and chicken. Ask the supplier about delivery, minimum orders and refrigeration during the journey. Chabad also advertises matza and kosher wine.

Fresh produce is available in town, and Chabad identifies Pescaderia Mal Pais as a fish-market option. Buying ingredients and preparing a kitchen for Pesach are separate questions. Send your specific kitchen and kashrut questions to Chabad before provisioning a rental. Do not assume that vegetarian food or a supermarket kosher symbol establishes suitability for Pesach.

Accommodation and Getting Here

Chabad lists Blooma as a third-party kosher hotel and describes the walk as about 12 minutes. Ask the hotel directly about Pesach availability and what meals its booking actually includes. Chabad says there is no eruv in town.

In 2027, Semana Santa ends in March, while Pesach falls in April. Keep the two holidays distinct when comparing room rates, ferry demand and restaurant programs. Book a realistic arrival buffer rather than planning to land immediately before the Seder.

FAQ

Is there a Seder for travelers?

Chabad advertises both Seder nights with advance registration. Check the live Pesach page for the next edition's form and schedule.

Can I buy all my Pesach groceries locally?

Chabad says kosher-for-Pesach groceries are not sold in Santa Teresa and directs visitors to a San Jose supplier. Arrange the actual order before traveling.

Are the holiday dates the same as in Israel?

Costa Rica follows the diaspora festival calendar. The 2027 holiday runs from the evening of April 21 through April 29 after nightfall.

Does an ordinary kosher menu establish Passover suitability?

No. Ask about the specific Passover supervision, kitchen, ingredients and meals. Year-round kashrut and kosher-for-Passover arrangements are separate questions.
