Go at 5pm, eat or drink, watch the sun drop behind the DJ, and decide at 8pm whether you stay or move on to Tikiliano. Ranchos' dinner service runs mostly in the dry season, so in October ask whether the kitchen is open before you plan a meal there. The walk back is on an unlit stretch, so book a taxi.
Rocamar is the swing spot on the north side. A $15 minimum spend per lounger, cocktails from $12, open noon to 7pm Tuesday to Sunday. It covers golden hour only. Its Instagram, @tikilianobar, lists Saturday as electronic, and the sets are called Dopo Cena, Italian for after dinner. They usually start around 10pm. A palm frond bar, string lights and a DJ booth, with rum and fresh pineapple cocktails that run $14 to $18.

Goma is a small bar behind Kooks with room for about 30 and a close around 1am. Ask the Kooks bar for the door. Kooks itself closes at 10pm per its own website, so use it for the early burger. Banana Beach is open until 1am with nightly live music and a bonfire, and works for a group that wants a beach bar instead of a dance floor.

When a full moon lands on a Saturday, Ranchos Itauna and the jungle promoters often take the whole night, with tickets from $28 to $55.50, and the next one on a Saturday in this cycle is 20 February 2027. Getting there and getting home
Uber and Bolt do not work here. Red taxis wait at the Playa Carmen cruce but the stand empties by about 10pm outside high season.
