The best recurring parties in Santa Teresa in 2026 are the full moon nights, the Thursday market followed by Somos, Saturday at Tikiliano and Ranchos Itaúna, and Deep Tuesday at Ranchos. Most have no cover on a normal week, ticketed full moons and New Year's Eve run $44.50 to $55.50, and the real peak on almost every night is between 11pm and 1am.

Ranchos' 2025 New Year's Eve, the biggest of its yearly parties, sold at $44.50 early and $55.50 general through Starticket, and Jungle Productions' January 2026 jungle full moon ran $28 to $55.50. Ordinary full moons at Ranchos have no published price, so ask on WhatsApp +506 8822-8575. Peak: midnight to 3am. Getting home: taxi booked in advance.
Ranchos Itaúna (listing) is a Brazilian-run beachfront restaurant and cabins on Playa Santa Teresa, and its New Year's Eve ticket page says full moon gatherings and New Year's parties have been held there for more than 20 years. The next full moons in Costa Rica time are Sunday 25 October, Tuesday 24 November, Wednesday 23 December, Friday 22 January 2027, Saturday 20 February and Monday 22 March. Who it suits: anyone who can pick their dates. The caveat: full moon weekends in the dry season fill the nearby rooms weeks ahead.
2. Thursday: market, then Somos
Where: the Thursday market, then Somos (House of Somos), a surf hotel and cafe with a garden on Playa Santa Teresa. Music: a live band rolls into a DJ set. Cover: none published. Peak: from about 9:30pm until around midnight, with Somos winding down then and the crowd moving on to Tikiliano. Getting home: short taxi, or walk in a group within town.
Local guides call this the biggest weekly party in town, with locals, expats and surf-school staff in the same garden. A guest reviewer in 2024 described the lounge turning into a party on Thursdays, and Somos' live music tends to end by about midnight, so noise reaches dorm rooms but not the small hours. Who it suits: first-time visitors who want to meet people. The caveat: the line-up changes weekly and Somos does not publish a cover, so check @houseofsomos that afternoon.
3. Saturday: Tikiliano and Ranchos SoundLab
Where: Tikiliano, an open-air tiki lounge and cocktail bar, and Ranchos Itaúna's Saturday SoundLab. Music: electronic at Tikiliano (the Dopo Cena set), DJs at Ranchos from sunset. Cover: Tikiliano posted free entry on its Friday class night and does not publish Saturday prices, so expect none unless a guest is billed. Peak: 11pm to 1am at Tikiliano, which a local guide says runs to 2:30am from Wednesday to Saturday. Getting home: taxi from either, since the walk to Ranchos is on an unlit stretch.
Ranchos describes Saturday SoundLab on its website as one of its two main weekly events, with music joining the restaurant from sunset into the night, a bonfire and fire shows. 4. Tuesday: Deep Tuesday
Where: Ranchos Itaúna on the beach. Music: resident and international DJs, from downtempo, deep house and lounge up to tech house and techno, with a bonfire and fire shows. Cover: none published at Ranchos. Peak: from the afternoon through sunset and on into the evening. Getting home: taxi from Ranchos.
Deep Tuesday is a weekly day and sunset beach party, not a late club night. The organisers' own accounts describe a family and friends gathering with a fire show, cocktails and DJs, and its Facebook page calls it a weekly day beach party. Go in the afternoon, stay for the sunset and you will see why locals rate it. Who it suits: people who like their party with a view. The caveat: the afternoon crowd is the main event, so arrive early rather than after dinner.
5. Banana Beach
Where: Banana Beach on the main beach. Music: its own site promises nightly live music, a bonfire and special events. Local sources place the bigger beach party nights on Monday (surf heat, then a party) and Wednesday (a named DJ). Cover: none published for regular nights. Peak: sunset to about 10pm. Getting home: walkable from much of central Santa Teresa.

6. Friday: Tikiliano Latin night
Tikiliano's Instagram lists Friday as Latin and reggaeton, with a salsa, bachata and merengue class at 9pm and free entry advertised on a September 2026 post. It is the dance-lesson night, good for people who want to learn before they go late. See Friday night.
What is not a party
- Sunset at Rocamar (listing) and a DJ at Uma (listing) during dinner are good evenings, but they are dinners with music.
- Drift (listing) is open from 4pm to 10pm daily, later only for live music and special events.
- Kika and La Lora Amarilla are closed. Several travel sites still list them from old data.
Getting home
There is no Uber or Bolt, and the main road is dark between clusters of bars. A taxi inside town runs $10 to $15 (as quoted in a local guide). Pantera Taxi lists WhatsApp +506 8591 9555.
